THE LATE PAULINE CLARK

A photograph of PAULINE CLARK (right), pictured with the great Italian baritone SILVANO CARROLI, and his lovely wife LUISA, taken in the wings back-stage at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, in September 1992, after "TOSCA" in which Silvano had a great triumph as the villainous SCARPIA, with LUCIANO PAVAROTTI singing CAVARADOSSI.
This picture shows how tiny Pauline was, but what she lacked in height she made up for in personality, talent, ability and charm. She had great knowledge and understanding of the Opera and Ballet world, and indeed, the arts in general.
She was an accomplished artist and photographer, and her kindness, great heart and boundless enthusiasm made her someone quite unique. Anyone lucky enough to have been her friend will never cease to regret her early death, but will always cherish the memory of her love of life, and the light she brought to so many.
